Clenet for sale
At the very beginning the Clenet seemed to be a classic for sale from a by gone era. Alain Clenet wanted to produce a car the was classically styled. The Clenet was a beautifully stylish creation.Alain Clenet started the Clenet Coachworks Inc. in 1978. Clenet a design engineer was looking to creat a stylish automobile to feel the void in the “boxy” look of the late 1970s and
1990s automobile. The lines and elegance of the elite vehicles of the 1930s were his inspiration. Clenet Coachworks Inc. was simply a group of men and women, mechanics and artisans, working together to achieve Alain Clenet’s vision.
The Clenet managed to turn heads in the capital of custom car culture, Santa Barbara, CA. In a town where there seemed to be a classic for sale at every red light, the Clenet set itself apart. Style is what set the Clenet apart. Clenet employed artisans, rather than exclusively car culture artisans. They brought a sense of refinement that came from other than the mechanical world. These artisans brought glass etching to accent windows. Woodworkers brought perfectly crafted and finished Italian walnut dashboards to the interior. These alone could have set the Clenet apart as a classic for sale. There were still other artistic inspired pluses Clenet offered as standards, fine English leather interiors, lambs wool carpet, teakwood pin striping and Waterford crystla ashtrays. The amenities in themselves were a classic for sale.
Unlike a classic for sale you might have encountered at a car show or on the street. The Clenet came with all that technology of the day had to offer. Clenet utilized the Linchon Town Car, the Mercury Cougar as some of their build platforms. Chasis and drivetrains of other high end modern vehicles were used as well. This gave the driver AC, power steering and a great sound system, as apposed to hand cranking the windows down and listening to a tinny sounding AM radio, while drenched in sweat while waiting on the light. Which classic for sale would you prefer. The mechanics working for Clenet did not for get the motor heads. V8 with V Twin carburetors were standard equipment. Style and power; sounds like a classic for sale to me.
A Clenet classic for sale may be a tough find. Only 480 authorized models were produced. The models were the Series I, II, and III. The Series I was a roadster, II was the Cabriolet, and III was the Asha. There were other models that would be a spectacular Clenet classic for sale to find, these are the special orders of notables. With a price tag ususally into the six figure range these were the cars of stars and royalty. Making one of these particualr Clenet classic for sale a real treasure.
Alain Clenet produced a real stylish high point for the American auto industry. His team of artisans took this classic for sale outside the realms of custom painted flames, and chopped chassis. Clenet really added a sense of style. The Clenet Coachworks Inc. created by Alain Clenet and his team succeded at producing a classic for sale.
