Kia for sale
Kia Motors was founded in 1944 and the name means “rising from Asia.” At first they produced bicycle parts, and later built motorcycles, cars and trucks. The company is South Korea’s oldest and second largest car manufacturer, and partially owned by Hyundai. Kia classics for sale are known for their low cost and have won awards for quality. The first passenger car built by Kia was the Brisa pickup truck, in the 1970s. They also produced cargo trucks during that time. A full range of classics for sale, including the Bongo, Concord, Capital, Potentia and Pride were launched in the 1980s, and a deal was made with Ford to bring the cars to the United States. The Kias were first branded in the United States as the Ford Festiva and the Ford Aspire.
The first Kia branded vehicles were sold in the United States in 1994. Because it was easier to import to the West Coast, Kia classics for sale were initially sold only on the West Coast. The first car to enter the American market was the Sephia sedan, priced under $10,000 and sold at four dealerships in Portland, Oregon. Since then the company has expanded one region at a time. The Sephia was a profitable car, but Kia’s popularity really soared when the affordable Sportage was launched. This was just in time for the sport utility vehicle craze, and the Sportage was a small, affordable option for those on a budget. The company continues to increase its market share in the states, and has outsold Chrysler and Mazda. They built a manufacturing plant in Georgia to build the popular Kia Sorento. Kia sold their 100,000th vehicle in the United States in 1997. By 1999 the company had dealerships in almost all 50 states (except North Dakota) and was the fifth largest import brand based on the number of dealers.
Kia has also made the European market their focus. Their most popular car has been the Rio, a low-cost family sedan.
In 2006, the company hired Peter Schreyer as Chief Design Officer. The cars were redesigned for a more signature look. The new corporate grille is known as the “Tiger Nose,” and featured on all Kia classics for sale.
Kia produces over 1.5 million vehicles per year and these are distributed in 172 countries. Their corporate slogan is “The Power to Surprise.” Being fairly new, Kia classics for sale do not fetch huge sums of money.
