Lotus for sale

Lotus classics for sale were founded by Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman. In 1946 cars were scarce and he began a second-hand car business with his friend while still in college. Soon they began to modify the cars before selling them. Once the government did away with rationing and new cars could be built, the business dried up.

Chapman was left with an Austin car and used that as the basis of the first Lotus. He modified the engine and suspension and gave it a whole new body. The car, named the Mark 1, was used as a trials car, in which it was driven across all types of terrain in a race against time. Chapman completed his studies, served in the military, and worked on improving a second vehicle, the Mark II. One innovation was that the headlamps were configured to turn with the steering. The car did well at races and was sold. The third Lotus, or Mark III, however, was the one that really caught attention. Chapman began receiving requests from racers interested in obtaining one of his cars. This was the beginning of Lotus classics for sale.

Lotus preferred not to manufacture their own engines, but to use and modify someone else’s. The cars are fast because they are extremely light. Lotus classics for sale do not offer much room for passengers. They popularized the mid-engine layout and moved radiators to the side to improve aerodynamics. They were also one of the first to add wings and shape the undersurface of the car. Using these techniques, Lotus has won many Formula 1 races from 1958 through 1994. Winning cars have been driven by Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, and Mario Andretti.

Chapman was also involved in the development of the DeLorean DMC-12. The Lotus Europa classics for sale were briefly sold in the United States but were unable to meet environmental standards and discontinued in 1975. Today Lotus manufactures the Elise, with a Toyota engine, to pass United States emissions laws. It is the first car built using epoxy-bonded aluminum extrusions and weighs less than 2,000 pounds. Other Lotus models still available are the Exige, the Evora, and the 2-Eleven. The T125 Exos is a track-only car worth up to one million dollars. These days, the company is developing electric vehicles as well.

Lotus classics for sale are surprisingly affordable for being as rare as they are. They are also very fragile.
