Outback for sale

Outback classics for sale were designed by Subaru to enter the burgeoning sport utility vehicle market in the 1990s. It began in 1995, when the Subaru company found sales of its cars lagging. Rather than invest time and money to develop an all new sport utility vehicle, they added body and lift to their Subaru Legacy wagon. At first it was called the Legacy Outback, a reference to the original vehicle and the rugged terrain of Australia. The Outback was marketed to be more efficient than the larger sport utility vehicles popular at the time. It was capable of covering multiple terrains and achieved great fuel efficiency.

The strategy worked. Subaru saw their sales rise, largely due to the popularity of this new car. Subaru Outback classics for sale feature all wheel drive. There is no other drive setup available. However, buyers had a choice of automatic or manual transmission. Most Outback vehicles are derived from the Subaru legacy. The only exception is the Outback Sport. Instead, the Outback Sport is derived from the Subaru Impreza. The Outback Sport is only available in the United States.

The Outback classics for sale were introduced at the New York Auto Show in 1994. The fist model year it was available to the public was in 1995. At first it was a trim package available on the base Legacy wagon. The lower half of the body was painted a contrasting color. In 1996, it was styled with larger bumpers and headlights, and taller tires. This look was inspired by racing events, and in fact Subaru had won the 1990 Safari Rally. In the United States, a higher trim level called the L.L. Bean is available. The outdoor recreation company retailer appeals to the same customer base as the Subaru Outback.

In Japan the Outback was known as the Legacy Grand Wagon, and later, the Legacy Lancaster, until 2004 when the Legacy prefix was dropped and the name Outback was used worldwide. Because of its size it was regarded as a luxury vehicle in Japan. Some consider Outback classics for sale to be the original crossover sport utility vehicle.

The Outback is now in its fourth generation of design changes. New and used Subaru Outbacks can be purchased for a reasonable price.

The original spokesman for the Subaru Outback classics for sale was Australian actor Paul Hogan, best known for his role as Crocodile Dundee from the movie series.
